Zero no Tsukaima

Zero no Tsukaima ( Zero's Familiar )

i started to watch this anime a few days ago, and completed it in three days...total of 13 episode...it's a fantasy plot, with the nobels being able to wield magic and the commoners as normal people...it's a harry potter like magical tinge in the story...the main character, which is the girl with pink hair, has been unsuccessful in summoning the right magic combination, and when the day comes to summon her familiar, also known as servant in the anime context, a boy, the one holding the sword was summoned from the earth realm...so the story begins with the boy trying to adapt to the strange magical world, and on the way, defeating the various evil plots by the bad guy trying to get world domination...overall, a very funny show, with a touch of romance in it...a good watch indeed...

Wednesday, March 21, 2007 || memorable trip 2

we went to this museum, the islamic museum as students, and viewed the exhibits in there with awe...too bad we can't took photos, but still, i saw lots of fascinating artifacts and old old documents that dates back to the founding of the religion, and subsequently, how the religion is until now...the different clothings, the old weapons, and the many astonishing items used for decorations...

this was a photo at the causeway...guess the transport we took? we were on the train, and it was just sunrise...yup, the feeling was refreshing, and the only thought in my mind was ' we had finally reached home' after a 9-10 hours of train trip...i think i will take a coach next time...haha...

this was taken when we were in singapore, which i felt safe to stick my camera out to took some shots...quite surprised to see that there are still many vegetation around the track that the train took...and one interesting fact is that the land where the tracks are are malaysia property...

this is the second last stop before the train reach tanjong pagar train station...we were waiting for the train at the station to depart before our train could go in...after this, was home sweet home...haha...

will post more photos in between the trips, where we travelled from one place to another...

memorable trip

not long ago, i went backpacking with two of my friends to the capital of malaysia, kuala lumpur, at the start of this year...it was my first trip with friends overseas, and thus, we did some planning together on the intinery and some logistics stuffs before the actual departure day...it was a totally new experience, and after 3 plus months, i finally posted some of the photos here to share...

the photo above was taken near the train station, the old railway train station...it's been quite a long time since i stepped into a train station, and i guess this was why we took a train back to singapore at the end of our trip...haha...anyway, i managed to see some old carriage and cargo trains, with the 'toot toot' sound and smoke rising up from the funnel...

this is a photo of the interior of the train station...see the black smoke? this was a cargo train, and behind this train was the carriage train, which the people living along the countryside took to work in the city every morning...very economically...

we were climbing the bridge that linked us across the railway tracks, to the other side of the train station...the roads here were hard to navigate, and several times, we had to jaywalk across the streets to reach the destination, along with other people in the area...this is the structure that faces the incoming train...

the malysia train company...ktmb...this is their headquaters i think...haha...managed to took a photo despite the heavy traffic along the roads here...it was quite magnificient, with the onion head structure that symbolises the malaysia...

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 || school's out forever

yup,i'm back to the reading craze, after having spent 9 weeks in the bmt training...my first novel was this popular book written by thriller author james patterson, sequel to the first book...it continues from the part when max and her group of friends were trying to escape from the pursue of the erasers, a wolf -human mutant...max and her friends are avian-human mutants...the story is filled with surprises here and there, and it arouse my intention to continue reading the book to find out what's ahead of the story...there were many great escapes by max and her group, and in this book, max discover more about herself, why she was genetically enhanced and know more about her abilities to travel at lighting speed...but the story left me in suspense,and i'm not usre much about the organisation Itex, which was the masterhead of all these experiements...i guess i'll have to wait for the third book to come out...yup, anyway, this is a good book for teenagers who wants some kick and excitement...

letters from Iwo Jima

i watched this movie not long ago, walking into the cinema not even knowing what this show was about, except that it's related to war...Iwo Jima is an island of Japan, which the Japan had defended during war world...this movie is about how a group of japanese soldiers were called to this island to build up fortrifications and an extensive underground tunnels as a base to their defensive operation...the main actor is the new general who was posted to the island to lead the soldiers...the many flashbacks he had during the fighting scenes between US and japanese soldiers were able to bring out his emotion on why this war was happenning, when not long ago, he was ambassador to US for friendship...the general managed to hold on the island till the very last moment, when he killed himself as a form of loyalty to the country...

another good point is that the music is soothing, and touching in the sense that brings out their longing for home and families...the soldiers had written many letters to be posted home, but the letters never leave the island...it was dug out from undernath the soil many years after the war, which reflected the feelings of the soldiers as they knew their fate...although some scences were too gross, otherwise, this is a good movie for the young to know how bad a war is.,..
