the first book of the series of five books once again by anthony horowitz,one of my favourite authors, writes about a sinster story of the supernatural. Matt, the main character, discovered about his power of predicting when dangers would arrive, and soon stumbled upon the truth that lead to the path of a new thriller suspense...eight elderly come together to form the nexus, protecting the world from the evil ones, banished long ago by five special children, and matt was one of them...in this book, the bad guys want to open the raven's gate and let them out, it is up to matt to prevent the catastrophy to humankind...
the second installation for the power of five books,evil star marks the beginning of another adventure that matt has to undergo, but this time round, he meet his first friend, one of the children who will save the world...the plot took place in peru, and traces to the lost kingdom of the incas, to the sahara desert where the alightment of the stars will trigger the opening of another gateway...together with pedro, matt has to put forward his couragen and fight his way intelligently through the bad guy, salamandar, from opening the gate...but, this time round,things are going to be bad...
What I liked about this book was that it was fast paced and kept into the plot with every chapter. The other reason why I liked this book was that the character showed lots of different emotions about how they did not want to get involved other people's problems.
This is almost like the Alex Rider series, written by the same author too...
Some of the emotions I felt were shocked and sadness when the plot reveals characters and deaths. All in all, the book was a great sequel to Raven's Gate and I enjoyed it very much.
perhaps it is strange that i still read stories that seems to be catered for children...haha...but well, in my eyes, a good book is one that has the story to captivate my attention from the beginning to the end, and still left me wondering when will the next book be out if any...i shall continue to wait for the third book...
