mitch albom once again mesmerised me with his new book, for one more day, which is a beautiful, haunting novel about the family we love and the chances we miss...it's a story about the deep relationship a mum shares with her son, and revolves around the question of what one would do if one is given a chance to spend one more day with a lost one...
as the main lead,charley, lost his mum, he begin to fall into despair, and faces many problems in his life...he begins to seek death, but fail and end up in his old hometown, where many of the sweet childhood memories were there...there, he met his mum...
what follows is the one "ordinary" day so many of us yearn for, a chance to make good with a lost parent, to explain the family secrets, and to seek forgiveness... somewhere between this life and the next, Charley learns the astonishing things he never knew about his mother and her sacrifices. And he tries, with her tender guidance, to put the crumbled pieces of his life back together...
when i read about some of the things that mum do for charley, i was touch and at the same time, question myself on whether i can do the same things back to my parents...when i read about the things that charley did that oppose his mum, i reflected whether i was guilty of any of those actions...
yup, a great read for all...hee...by the way, i read the chinese edition...haha, can brush up my chinese since i left college for ns...
